Overview
Humanproof creates one-time verification challenges that can ask a recipient to complete live camera, coarse location, age-estimate, or height-estimate checks. We collect only the information needed to create, deliver, complete, and troubleshoot those challenges.
Raw camera video is not shared with the challenge creator. Exact location is not shared with the challenge creator.
Information We Collect
- Challenge details: challenge token, asker name, selected verification checks, expiration time, challenge status, completion time, and verification result summaries.
- Camera data: the app uses the camera for live verification. Selected still frames may be sent to the server when age or height estimation is requested. Raw video is not stored or shared with the asker.
- Location data: when a region check is requested, the app may collect coarse region information such as country, administrative area, locality, and a region label. We do not share exact GPS coordinates with the asker.
- Push notification data: the app may send a Firebase Cloud Messaging token to notify the challenge creator when a challenge is completed.
- Diagnostics and analytics: Firebase services may collect crash reports, performance data, device information, and basic app event data to help us operate and improve the app.
- Server logs: our backend may process IP address, user-agent, request timing, and error details for security, debugging, and service operations.
How We Use Information
- To create and load one-time verification challenges.
- To evaluate requested challenge checks and return challenge status.
- To notify the challenge creator when a challenge is completed.
- To detect errors, improve reliability, and protect the service from abuse.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data with service providers that operate the app infrastructure, including cloud hosting, Firebase messaging, Firebase diagnostics, and AI estimation providers when age or height estimation is requested. Challenge creators receive verification status and result summaries, not raw video or exact location.
Retention
Challenges are designed to be temporary. Challenge records may remain for a limited period after expiration or completion for service operation, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. Diagnostic logs may be retained by our infrastructure providers according to their service settings.
Your Choices
- You can deny camera, location, or notification permissions in your device settings, though some challenge checks may not work without them.
- You can avoid creating or completing a challenge if you do not want the requested checks processed.
- You can contact us to ask privacy questions or request deletion of challenge data where applicable.
Children
Humanproof is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the app to collect information from children.
